So you’ve decided to give juicing a go? Brilliant! Juicing is a great way to get healthy but if you’re going to make it work for you then there are a few things you should know.
Be prepared to put in the effort required for a juicing programme. You will feel the benefits but it’s a change of lifestyle and it does take effort. If this sounds like too much hard work then just consider the time and effort already spent on your condition, and that includes the pain and limitations that you have.
Don’t just make it up on your own. There are many experts that have devised programmes to suit your needs. Take lessons from them. Don’t waste your money and efforts by feeling your way through as you won’t get the results that you are looking for. It’s important that you get the right balance of nutrients for your body. Don’t get over excited and buy every fruit and vegetable in the supermarket to put in one juice like I did. It didn’t taste very nice and it made me feel a bit ill. Stick to the recipes until you really know your stuff.
Get Support. It’s important that you get the right support for those days when you’re ready to sabotage your efforts. Being in a structured programme will give you the support you need but even juicing with a dedicated friend will help.
Avoid the supermarket juices. You can’t create a nutritious juicing programme on these. Your homemade delicious juices will be much better for you, and you’ll feel quietly smug for producing them 😉
Be prepared to buy the best juicer you can afford. Try to aim for £70 upwards, it’s a big commitment so do your homework first but it will be well worth it. You won’t get good results from the cheaper juicers and it will be a sad waste of your time, effort and money. Consider taking out an extended warranty as sometimes the motor can burn out quickly if you’re using it for the whole family.
Make space for your juicer. Honestly, how long can you be bothered to get it out from the cupboard, unravel the cord, move the toaster and set it up? Make it easy on yourself. Give the kitchen surfaces a bit of a re-jig and let the juicer have pride of place. Go on – this is your ticket to a juicier, healthier you!
Clear out your cupboards. Don’t spoil all your efforts by having a cake or chocolate binge. If it’s not there then you can’t eat it. If you live with other people then do what you can to put the tempting foods out of sight. Once you get going with the juicing you won’t want the junk anymore (phew!) but just in case you’re having a bad day it’s best that’s it’s not staring you in the face.
Hopefully these tips have given you something to think about and are going to make your journey into juicing a lot easier.
Not Sure if Juicing is Worth the Effort? It’s So Good For You!
You feel lighter – you’ll be lighter.
You feel healthier – because you are.
Your skin shines – because your body is full of pure foods and excellent nutrition.
Your hair shines and it makes you look like a shampoo advert.
You have less toilet troubles – food is moving through you properly now.
You have more energy – your body knows what to do with all those nutrients it’s been missing out on.
There’s some kind of inner glow about you when you’re juicing that people are drawn to. It makes perfect sense: You’re light, pure and clean and almost angelic 😉 rather than heavy, burdened, in pain and fed up.
